From Liangzhu to Wuhan: A Relay of Digital Heritage

Behind this exhibition lies a story of continuous exploration. Earlier, Tianbaonet partnered with the Hubei Cultural and Creative Industry Association to introduce the PortalCam in a cultural tourism context at the Hangzhou Liangzhu Cultural Creative Market—marking an innovative attempt to merge technology with cultural heritage. The debut received remarkable feedback, earning praise and attention from industry professionals and visitors alike.

This time, together with the Hubei Cultural and Creative Industry Association and Hubei University of Technology, we embarked on a meaningful journey of digital replication. Using hundreds of millions of Gaussian splats, we meticulously captured and archived Wuhan’s century-old Lifenneighborhoods.

These historic buildings and alleys, rich with stories, have been completely preserved in the digital world through the “magic” of PortalCam. Now, the narrative of old Wuhan is no longer confined to oral tradition—it continues to unfold digitally, allowing more people to appreciate the unique charm of this city.

Where Cultural Tech Meets Human Resources Development

Showcasing cultural innovation technology at a national human resources development conference reflects a growing trend of industrial integration. The optimization and upgrading of human resources increasingly rely on the dual empowerment of technology and culture. The appearance of PortalCam not only demonstrates the mature application of 3D digital technology in the cultural sector but also offers the HR industry a practical case of cross-industry innovation rooted in “culture + technology.”

We extend our special thanks to the Hubei Cultural and Creative Industry Association for their platform and support. Moving forward, Tianbaonet will continue to advance technological innovation and deepen collaboration with industry associations, universities, and partners—using digital technology to revitalize historically rich cultural spaces and drive high-quality development in cultural heritage preservation and the creative industries.
